Just what I needed
When you truly believe that the Universe is a friendly place, it becomes so much easier to see the bright side of an situation.
Yesterday the strong March winds blew and broke a large plate glass window in the front of our building, the old Marrow-Pitt building, in downtown Tarboro. The window had a large crack that had been temporarily "repaired" with duct tape, but we knew that sooner or later that glass was going to come down. We had hoped for "later" because we plan to restore the store's facade and aren't certain how we want the windows, but the Universe decided that yesterday was the day.
For a moment, but only a moment, I thought "Oh, no! This isn't good!" , but as I swept up the broken shards of glass and my husband went to the hardware store for plywood, I remembered that things happen as they are meant to happen and the Universe is friendly.
I've been whining for months that the information kiosk was removed from the courthouse square. I thought it had been very useful as a community bulletin board and had wished that it would be replaced. I wanted a central location where folks in the community could post notices and stay up to date with all of the events and activities around town.
That broken window was less than 50 feet from the spot where the old kiosk stood. As we nailed up a frame and covered it with wood, I knew that I was given just what I needed. I still need to paint it , frame it and hang up a sign that says "COMMUNITY BULLETIN BOARD", but I'm feeling good about it.
Thanks, I needed that!
In this blog, you'll often find me referring to the "friendly Universe", this is why....
'When asked by a reporter something like :"What, in your opinion is the most important question facing humanity today?" Einstein thought for a bit then replied, "I think the most important question facing humanity is, 'Is the universe a friendly place?' This is the first and most basic question all people must answer for themselves.'
My answer to the question is, "Yes, the Universe is friendly." and the actions of my life are based upon that belief.
