Spare time is not like spare change.

sparetime.jpgSpare change is the handful of coins that weigh down your pockets or add a few pounds to the bottom of your purse.  Spare is usually an undetermined amount and since you don't know how much it is, you don't usually mind giving it away or spending it without a lot of thought. Spare change can accumulate to the point that it is no longer change, and then becomes savings.  Some times you save up so much spare change that you could pay for a nice vacation ... thar is if you can spare the time.

Spare time on the other hand doesn't accumulate. In fact it is apt to dwindle away unnoticed. You can lose time without ever really knowing that you had some in the first place.

If you are anything like me, you never have any time that could honestly be referred to as "spare" or extra.  My to-do list and "want to-do" lists are so long that my reincarnated lives will be kept busy. Still ... this weekend, I will use some of that stuff so foolishly referred to as spare time to make some progress on my passive income sites AND on the new site I'm creating for Tarboro and the people of Tarboro. www.gotarboro.com  .

I know you don't have any more "spare" time, but the Chamber of Commerce needs a new president, and I think you would be PERFECT for the role!

Thanks for the vote of confidence but there may be a lot more to the job than we are aware of. Roberta is a very creative woman and I suspect there may have been frustrating obstacles that prevented her from doing the job as she would've liked it done. There is a board of directors to contend with.
Working FOR anyone is not exactly my cup of tea, I prefer working WITH people and I'm more than willing to work WITH the Chamber of Commerce.
