This morning while I was processing orders my mind wandered off on a tangent and took my keyboard tapping fingers with it. Somehow I ended up on a website reading about Photo Stamps. 

I instantly visualized hundreds of letters being mailed from citizens in Tarboro to friends and relatives in far away states.  Letters with photo stamps promoting Tarboro. Then I checked the prices and the cheapskate in me took over with an even better, cheaper, but just as good idea. 

How about promotional Tarboro stickers? Everybody likes stickers. OR, thinking ahead to Tarboro's 250th anniversary celebration.  How about a commemorative sticker, envelope or even official stamp?

Keep in mind, if we come up with an ingenious promotional idea, it could be "news" to the papers, the TV stations, etc and that news-worthy idea could bring a lot more attention to Tarboro than ever imagined.

After a little more thought ...

You know how non-profit groups send out sheets of personalized return address stickers in hopes that you'll send a donation?

Perhaps the town of Tarboro could include a sheet of personalized return address labels to every household that received a utilities bill  The stickers could be promoting the Tarboro 250th anniversary and would be a great (inexpensive?) way to get the word out to 1,000s of people.
